Thank you for your response, I'm a bit melancholic on the fact that I can't retrieve the save game file, but I really appreciate your advice and I will create backup saves on a USB storage device from now on.

To answer your inquiry, unfortunately, it is no longer possible to recover a corrupted saved file. Save games that are corrupted and cannot be repaired. Please try loading a different save game from an earlier point to see if this resolves the issue.

However, you can prevent this from happening again.

I highly recommend making fairly frequent saves and alternate save game slots. This way, if one save game file goes bad, you can use one of your other recently saved games. If you have used any cheats then it may affect your save game.

We also suggest copying any save games to a memory card each day to keep a backup in case your Xbox 360 hard drive fails.

Try clearing your cache of the game. Most games use the Xbox 360 hard drive extensively to cache (copy and reuse) game data. This is done to optimize all loading the game does. It has been found in rare cases on some Xbox 360s that the cached data can get overly fragmented. This exhibits itself by the game taking a long time to load anything from menus, dialogue, sounds, objects, levels, and more.

To clear the Xbox 360 system cache go to the Dashboard and press the middle Guide button on your Xbox 360 controller. Scroll to System Settings, Storage, then highlight the HDD, press [Y]... and then simply select Clear System Cache. Select Yes when prompted to perform Hard Drive Maintenance.

Deleting the cache will remove temporary game files and updates. Saved games, profiles, DLC, etc will NOT be removed.

Delete any saved files or games you no longer use from your Xbox hard drive. Using these steps can help to prevent problems with saved games.

Check your saves for the game OP.

If you go to your console memory> games> select the title> check for corrupt files.

(There will be an exclamation mark on any corrupt files, these need to be deleted as they can not be recovered).

If it is not saves I am at a loss as to what would cause you to lose your progress.
