Well I hope that is the case. I still haven't heard anything from my friend but for her sake I hope she will be able to download and play it on my Xbox One that she is borrowing.

Going by the artwork on the disk version of the game, both console versions of the game are on the same disk and there could be a chance the game can be downloaded on both generation consoles.

Friends can become former friends when this type of thing happens.

You give them a loan of a console and access to your account then you never hear from them again.

Um if you would have read my post thoroughly, then you would know that I bought the digital version, given the fact that I said I bought it off the Xbox Store using my Xbox Series S.

I just searched for it in the Store and it states "Available on" and lists both the Series X/S as well as the XB1. The game is an "optimised for Series S/X" so it should work on the XB1, just without the optimised parts. At least that's how I understand it.
