Can you play Current gen versions on Next gen?

Both games use smart delivery, so can only download the Xbox Series X|S version of the game on the Xbox Series X|S. If you want to play the Xbox One versions, then playing on the Xbox One is your only option.

i actually think it is right now. if you never play the next gen version of one of these games and assuming the next gen versions dont have any additional content, then you are going to have just as much fun playing on the current gen console.

basically right now the only difference between current gen and next gen are the graphics, and those dont inherently makea game more fun. especially with the level of detail we have on current gen games.

in time you are going to start seeing bigger differences in more then just graphics and that will be fun.

I'm pretty sure, even if there is a 'next gen' version released, that the console will be backwards compatible allowing people to play the current gen version on there anyway.

BF4's difference will probably be one of the more extreme but if you're getting a next-gen console at launch, you should get the next-gen version. Even if you don't get the console at launch or if the next-gen consoles come out
after a game's current-gen release (like BF4), it may be worth waiting for the next-gen version.
