Can you not use the same character on both servers?

So since I couldn't log onto the N. American servers for 2 days, I tried the European server. Got on right away. Yay! But now the European server is down and I'm logging onto the N. American server (I'm in USA). Except now it's starting me completely
from scratch - it's forcing me to make a new character and can't access my other character.

I'm hugely, hugely disappointed in this game - and not just the technical glitches, of which this is by far the worst Xbox 1 launch. Heck even Titanfall on midnight release for the console & game wasn't nearly this bad. But the quests are boring and uneventful.
NPC's don't appear where they should. I hate that everywhere I go I'm surrounded by swarms of other players all doing the same thing at the same time. All that means is lagging issues and frame rate goes south because of all these people running around,
heck half of them look like black ninjas because their characters won't even fully load on the screen.

For a next-gen game, I was expecting better graphics & frame rate than Skyrim - I'm shocked that they managed to make the graphics & play control look & feel worse on XB1 than Skyrim does on my 360. It's just clunky, awkward, boring.

If you haven't bought this game, don't do it. Even if they manage to de-bug the many, many issues it's just not as fun as Skyrim.

Dead Island Question

When you finish the game you can restart another play through on the same level that you finished with if you use the same character.

 

nope they've said they haven't put it in yet being able to transfer characters to other servers but maybe in the future.
