Can you make a guest account to play portal 2 local coop?

I think this is more a question of “how do I make a guest account on 360 backwards compatible games” since I have this issue with all my 360 games on xbox one so is there a way to add guest accounts on 360 games when playing on xbox one? because from my experience it’s not as easy as adding a guest account on xbox one

I have attempted both ways but neither of them work unfortunately.

Hi again, just to check are you sure there is no local multiplayer? the coop menu has 2 options, online and splitscreen and if I choose splitscreen it prompts me to connect another controller implying that portal 2 has local coop its just that from my experience it needs 2 accounts but I only want to use one hence why I asked if I could make a guest account but I don’t know if it’s possible to use a guest account

Hi again, thank you for responding. So adding a guest on the xbox one doesn’t make a difference since I have to re-login for the xbox 360 UI when in the game due to the way backwards compatibility works so I don’t know how I would add a guest while in the portal 2 game. if I go out of the game it still says i have a guest but in the game only 1 account is logged in. As seen in the image this option comes up if i select local coop but pressing "start" logs me out and says “2 gamer profiles must be signed in” and pressing "join" brings me to a selection screen with my profile and a download profile prompt. pressing my profile does nothing since one account is already signed in and I have already established I can’t add another account.

since I’m playing on xbox one it will use the 360 UI and I didn’t know if that had any effect on the accounts so would I need to make a guest account before opening the game or will it have a prompt? from my experience in the game it will sign in one controller as my account then the only other option is download profile for the other so if you don’t mind could you please explain how I would sign in the guest account. Thank you
