Can you enable a virtual controller while using remote play on mobile?

No at this time it is only a feature of xcloud

No remote play just requires your console

Cloud play doesn't require a console but a subscriptiom to xbox gamepass ultimate and in a supported region

Your mobile device has to translate your input into real time.input for cloud to recognize consoles don't have that features

Azure servers do

Is xcloud not the same as mobile gaming (remote play)?

What you can try is to install the application for mobile devices, associate it to your console and then search for the game from the app.

Once you search for it, send it to install remotely to the console.

If you do not have the remote functions enabled on the console, follow these steps.

Sign in on your console using the same Xbox profile you'll be using on your mobile or PC app.

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide and go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features.

Check the box to enable remote features.

For Power options, select Sleep mode.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues using the Remote Play feature of your Xbox.

In order to enable remote play, you need to enable remote features from the settings of your console.

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

Go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features.

Select the Enable remote features checkbox.

In Xbox App Preferences, you need to select "Allow connections from any device" if you want to remove any authentication.

If these settings are already configured properly, here are the steps on how you could proceed with the remote play.

On a mobile device:

Open the Xbox mobile app.

Select the My Library icon and select Consoles.

Select the console you want to connect to and then press Remote play on this device.

If you're still having issues, try connecting to a Wi-Fi network with strong signal. Mobile data is not stable compared to Wi-Fi. For optimal Xbox Remote Play, you'll need a stable internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 4.75 Mbps (9 Mbps preferred), and a 5GHz Wi-Fi network (or Ethernet connection)
