Can you delete an old gamertag?

The link you have posted will not work. This person has said they have used the account for well over two years and deleted the live account. If you have not used your email account in over 365 days, then it will be removed/deleted. This is stated within
the terms of use for your Microsoft Account.

As for the gamertag, there is no way of deleting a gamertag or Xbox Account. If you would like to request this feature, then you can, though the Xbox UserVoice site

YearlyKitten needs to be switched out to an MS account not for use, so your proper MS account is free to have the proper gamertag added to it.
