    can you change character limit to decrease and give me a second chance for gamertag?


    Ive sort of already seen the gamertag problem that was apparently made like 5 years ago but like I JUST got a microsoft account like two months ago and made a mistake in changing my gamertag into something random. My true question is why isnt it three or two free gamertag changes, im so broke and TEN whole dollars to change my name is too much, also the 15 to 12 character limit sucks, i actually had a name i liked but the gamertag system really made me want to change that. I’m very sure that someone has made a mistake similar to mine. To finish it off, my reasoning is that i get people abuse the name change but when the limit goes to twice or thrice, they can only really get away with it once, even though they already get away with it NOW and nothing happens.

    Oh yeah also i was kinda mad at my friends and tried trolling them with different name so yeah that’s how it happened.

    Aaron_thep, I'm very sorry to inform you that there is no way in which you can get an additional free gamertag change, this feature is controlled by the system and only grants 1 free change without any exceptions. Moreover, the terms and regulations concerning the Gamertags are established including the cost or fee for this, for all users equally and is as designed and indicated in https://support.xbox.com/help/account-profile/p..., it is not possible for the user to determine the parameters.

    Please note that this is only a public forum, I will respond to you in a short period of time within the possible apologizing in advance for any delay in response. I am simply a user trying to provide information and knowledge that may be useful to others, I am not an employee of Microsoft.

    Hi,

    I want to recommend you the Microsoft Rewards program.

    If you frequently collect points you soon have enough to redeem the points for credits to change your gamertag.

    Afterwards you can purchase games, add-ons or redeem the points for a game pass sub.

    Beware: Gamertag "nickname" and "nick name" are the same

    I want to ask, for the gamertag change, were you given a prompt like
    this     when changing your gamertag? Because my only guess of what it could've done is character limit since I've never seen this happen before. The character limit too is only set to 12 characters for the gamertag that'll for that says "Xbox One console and
    Xbox Apps" while the second one is given a character limit of 15 characters.

    What is the second nickname(famousAtom83703) ?

    Since you have a gamertag with special characters, the FamousAtom gamertag is used it areas that don't support the characters. The second one is considered a "classic" gamertag. When you change your tag, if it gives the option to change that tag, you would choose that options. You can also change it on a 360 console.

    Why only 12 alphabets gamertag please change it to 16 Because my last gamertag was of 13 and now I cannot take it back

    If you change your gamertag on a Xbox 360 you can still have the 15 character limit but other than that you are limited to 12 characters.
