Can you block the youtube app?

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Internet Explorer can be blocked, but not blocked with a passcode. The result is that a person does not need the passcode to unblock it, which makes "blocking" IE pretty useless.

Your idea about IE being blocked through the "Unrated Content" option is logical. Yet, even with Unrated Content set to "blocked," Internet Explorer is still accessible. This method used to block the YouTube app entirely but does not block the IE app -
from which YouTube can now be accessed...

Does this seem like an oversight?

The Unrated Content block removes the YouTube app from the app marketplace. Thus, it stands to reason that since YouTube can be accessed through Internet Explorer on Xbox Live, IE should also be blocked under the Unrated Content setting.

Also, the YouTube app no longer exists on the new dashboard - it is to be accessed through IE.

Think about it - nearly everything that is blocked on the Xbox Live "Family" menu can be accessed by Internet Explorer. Doesn't that render all of the Family safety settings useless?

Download the YouTube app to stream online videos on Xbox 360

Sign in with your Xbox Live gamertag.

Go to apps, and then select Browse Apps or Search Apps.

Browse or search for YouTube.

Select YouTube, and then select Confirm Purchase to download and install the app. After the download, the app automatically starts, and you can browse the available content.

To start YouTube later, select My Apps, and then YouTube. You can also start YouTube by selecting Video, and then My Video Apps.

If you have a YouTube account, you can sign in to your YouTube account and access your YouTube subscriptions and playlists.

the prefered method is still the youtube app

some videos don't play on IE due to being too old and using FLASH

unrated content access still requires a NET rating

if a website doesn't have NOT yet rated label how is the IE suppossed to know that

this is usually provided by netnanny safe web etc etc

if a website doesn't have a net rating there isn't much you can do except be the parent and you can however block websites from your router and block certain words or ask your ISP to block access to those websites
