Can XBox Series X get a virus from web browser?

Although there's no perfect system out there, the Xbox One consoles (Series X) included works using a different kind of operative system than your Windows or Phone does, so the usual type of viruses and malware that are across the web usually target to those
    before mentioned systems.

So although you could download a file with a virus it most likely wouldn't affect your console, but for example, if you download it to an external drive and then plug it in to your PC, your PC could be at risk because of that.

So having an updated antivirus in your mobile and PC, and being responsible on the websites you visit with your console is the best advice you can get.

    Hi,

The Xbox console family can't get viruses for a number of reasons:

    • Xbox One consoles are locked down machines that can only run code that is 'digitally signed' from Microsoft.
    • They don't run Windows. While they have elements of the Windows OS, it does not compare to a PC OS at all. Because of this, no virus out there would even work on an Xbox console.

There are phishing threats you should still be careful of. Make sure websites you visit and enter log-in details into are legitimate. No virus immune or protected system will ever protect you from phishing or online scams.

Hello again, you can do the procedure below once, if the slowdown persists do again, and in the last case would be a console reset.

    Cache Xbox One

The first is a cache cleanup:

    1. Go to xbox press and hold the XBOX power button on your console for 10 seconds until it turns off

    2. Wait 10 seconds for it to turn off

    3. Wait 1 minute with it off

    4. Turn it back on

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello WaTerMelon, its not possible to get a virus, what may have happened is that it has accumulated some data in the cache and can not swap to be able to free up this space, and depending on the available space you have on Xbox this can cause it to slow down a little bit when starting games.

Hello again, try to choose the option where it says "troubleshooting", it will probably cause you to do a reset to the console.
