Can we get Kung Fu Chaos backwards compatible?

Backwards compatibility is derived of a partnership concerning a developer team acknowledging its fan base, and upon popular decision reaches out to us so that these titles can be released as backwards compatible.

In this case, this is why it is recommended to reach out to that developer team, here we have the official
Ninja Theory website and
Ninja Theory Twitter as this team is independent from Microsoft's decisions.

But why would they need the developer's permission if its an IP they own? I would understand if its a 3rd party game or a game they funded but doesn't hold the IP, but this is a game that they own the IP and the code of. So they don't need Ninja's Theory
permission if MS already owns the code.
