Can the Xbox one x cause permanent damage if unplugged when it’s not in power save mode

No I unplug mine often .

My only thing I see is you plug it in a surge protection socket. They ask you not to do that as that could cause issues with the xbox .

I would plug it directly into the wall out let 👍

Thank you so much for letting me know but one last question I only use an extender because there aren’t a lot of plugs in the wall so am I fine with at least using an extender

Thanks for your post. If your console is in power-saving mode and turned off, there would be no way that unplugging the console to move it could damage it. When the Xbox is in power-saving mode your console is completely shut off and does not draw power
until turned on.

Having multiple OS doesnt cause input lag, its either his tv or the xbox. Have you tryed powering it completly off? unplug it and restart. Reason i ask is the xbox one defaults to a instant on power mode, which never fully shuts the system down and
can cause the OS to become sluggish due to what i believe is a memory issues with the software. You can set it into energy saving mode so the system fully shuts down when you turn it off, or you could just unplug it for a min.

Most external drives have an indication/power light when they are in use when the console is in sleep mode as long as this light is off on your external drive then there is no issue with unplugging it, it will cause no damage to the info on the drive....
