Can the controller be infected after update or after site?

Hi there Yqe, my name is Gerardo, and I'm an Xbox player, just like you. I'll be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

No, Xbox controllers cannot be infected in any way, nor can the consoles. This is primarily because all updates are officially released by Xbox and are entirely secure. You cannot update a controller with an unofficial or non-Xbox update.

I hope this helps and if you have further questions please let me know.

    Kind regards,
    Gerardo.

Can Xbox Controller get virus through Windows?

Oh okay. I just thought that e.g. if I had a virus on the Windows, plugged Xbox Controller through USB, that then the virus could move onto Controller and then keep infecting other devices from Controller (just like USB Key)... You know, I did read that Xbox Controller is able to be updated, so I thought that it's like any device then that the virus could easily get there. I'm not so much aware of Xbox Updating, so... Or is it that Xbox itself update the Controller and not Windows? I'm confused as actually I know that normal old printer or scanner wouldn't get virus by plugging it to the infected PC, as there's nothing to infect (when it's not a WIFI model though)...

Yeah I might be a bit over sensitive for safety of my devices :) Just don't wanna mess around and end up Xbox infected too, or plugging Controller to other PC and get the other PC infected too... As there's a Cloud Gaming and I heard that you can connect Xbox Controller to Android too... Would be terrible to get all of devices infected...

Wereskeevers were cut from the game

Think of all the people you can infect with all the illnesses you could carry. Seriously after a few hours of playing I've been infected 3 times and all by skeevers.

Windows 11 Virus and Xbox One Controller connected - can it infect controller?

You’ll find virtually every modern device has firmware after one fashion or another that is able to be updated. I just bought a new fairly baseline printer, and I had to update the firmware. Yes the control pad is able to be updated. Malware that works on PC would not work on android. As I said the likelihood of such a thing is so small that it’s really not worth worrying about. Infecting the boot sector of a USB key is an entirely different thing, control pads have absolutely no access to the boot process
