    Can not play online with my gold account recently


    My Gold subscription expires 9/5/2017 and is still active but when I try to play games like Destiny or NBA 2K17 online it tells me i do not have Xbox live. I tried to test the live multiplayer connection and it says everything is good and tried turning the
    console on and off but still doesn't work. I can still download the free games that gold membership provides from the store but playing online doesn't work. Please Help.

    How does Xbox Live Gold work for child accounts?

    Recently bought my son an Xbox One and set him up as a child account. i bought Live Gold but when he tries to play online, he gets the prompt that he needs to buy Live Gold. Does him having a child account of a user with Live Gold not allow him to play

    Xbox Live Confusion?

    Xbox Live is free.

    You can make a Gold account, or a Silver account.

    The Gold account gives you access to access to play online, along with free monthly games and weekly deals. This has a fee.

    The Silver account gives you access to Xbox Live and apps, but you just can't play online or get the free games. This is free.

    Hi there,

    Are you using this profile 'UnusualPiano0', where you also made this thread with?

    If so, you'll need a Xbox Live Gold account to be able to play online. The account 'UnusualPiano0' is a silver (free) account which doesn't not allow online gameplay

    otherwise what is the gamertag you are referring to that is unable to go online

    DId you recently renew your gold membership?

    If you recently purchased the gold membership for this account, you can try calling support to see if they can cancel the gold on that account and give you a code to use on the other account.

    Do I need 2 gold live accounts?

    Fortnite doesn't required Gold to play online so you wouldn't need any for that game. If you both plan on playing other games online, you would need at least 1 Gold subscription. The account with the Gold would set one of the consoles as their Home account to share the Gold.
