: Can not connect to new router

Are you trying to update via the router itself? According to this:-
en-uk-support.belkin.com/.../f7d2401uk-surf%2B-wireless-modem-router---firmware-update version: 1.00.42 is the latest can you try that from the website?

I know 1.00.41 certainly had issues connecting even without security so I'd be interested to know if that is fixed in 42

This may be the problem, it's only 1.00.37, but every time I want to update to 1.38, the update downloads then fails.

What version of firmware are you using on the Belkin? I have this down as a known issue:-

But I'm surprised even WEP works
