Can my Xbox Series S controller be replaced if it came out of the box faulty/broken

I am sorry to hear that.

If the controller is out of warranty, it's not possible to get it replaced, as you have guessed it.

However, you can recalibrate it! Have you tried?

Please, open the Xbox Accessories app on your console, press the Xbox button to open the guide, then under Profile & system, select Settings > Devices & connections > Controllers & headsets.

Before you recalibrate your controller, check to see if there’s a firmware update available for your controller. If there is, update your controller before you recalibrate.

Select Recalibration options.

Select the specific thumbstick you want to recalibrate (left or right).

Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the recalibration.

Control Drift can happen straight out of the box without any misuse. With my brand new Reach LE Xbox 360 S came two, not one but two faulty Drifting Controllers. I never sent them in for a simple reason, it's a Reach LE Controller
and I didn't want to risk not getting the Case of the Controller back.

It can and does happen, while the Controller is one tuff little cookie, it can be broken from day one with no User End Neglect. Chalk it up to, meh, I have 3 others that work fine.

I have no problem with the standard series X and X box one pads

but my Elite Series 2 has a lot of stick issues and the tension tighten tool

thing was not in the sealed box with the new core controller

despite it being on the box it should be include, my pad replaced

the broken Black one which came with everything but broke the

next day I am hoping the Elite Series 3 is better, it would be nice

if they did a version with advanced chat audio and EQ like

one of the Branded Licenced controllers do, but hey gone off topic a bit.

Literally two brand new controllers both came out of the box broken. It’s obscene.

My One controller was broken out of box *sigh*. The right bumper is loose somehow. Like, it actually hangs weirdly. Gonna see if I can get a replacement. Do these controllers have a 90-day warranty like the 360 controllers?
