First you need to uninstall the game through steam, and then install it from the microsoft store.

If you have already made the purchase through the microsoft store, confirm here:

I tried the following

Here are the steps I followed

1. Remove MSFS 2020 from steam

2. Delete the steam account on the steam web page

3. Uninstall steam on my PC

4. Go to MSFS store and buy MSFS 2020

5. Install MSFS 2020

6. Launch by double clicking the application.

The license transfer will enable other accounts to play the full game though.

Yes they can.

Not all games allow it but you can move saves between profile by signing into the profile you want to move it to then find the save and select move. doing this will transfer ownership of the save to the new profile.

Like I said not all games allow it.

Oblivion is one game that lets you move saves between profiles. Alien vs predator doesn't allow it.

I've just tested it my self. I was able to transfer an oblivion save to one of my spare profiles and was able to load the save.

as you can see from my reply to ngohcphi, that I am a newcomer coming from FSX stepping over to MSFS 2020. Up to now I had nothing to do with steam in both places. If I can buy the planes via my Microsoft account, I would need a little help to get there there.
