Can Minecraft purchase on Xbox live for xbox360 be played on Xbox one?

Hello, my brother and I play offline with one xbox360 console and 2 remotes in same game with 2-player mode. Our dad purchased one xbox 360 gold live account which we play by taking turns. Our dad wants to know if by buying a second xbox360 gold live account
we can both play at the same time using the same xbox360 console on two seperate xbox gold live accounts on two remotes in same game. Can someone please confirm if this is possible or do we have to buy a second xbox 360 console?

im having the same problem im new to xbox live and I want to play minecraft xbox360 edition on multiplayer and it keeps saying "no games to join"

Everything you bought on the old console can be played freely by all profiles and on either console for the profile that purchased the content. So if you wanted to use the new console yourself and leave the old one for the kids, anyone could play Minecraft
(and other purchased content) on the old one and you could play Minecraft on the new one as long as you were signed in to LIVE. You can read more on this

here. If you transferred licenses to the new console, anyone could play Minecraft on the new console but only your profile signed in to LIVE could play it on the old console.

Call Xbox live. They can look up your purchase history or you can look in your own history. I know on the xbox360 it is under the account menu, I am not sure where it is on the Xbox One. Hope it helps.
