Can Microsoft Stores perform repairs on an Xbox One X Scoprio at the store itself?

Specifically for an overheating issue.

Xbox One X Scropio edition shuts down automatically while under heavy load. When the Xbox is turned back on, it displays a message that the console overheated.

Numerous attempts at improving ventilation have been attempted. The console is currently sitting on a metal wire shelf where it is completely open to the air on all sides, yet it still shuts down from overheating.

From my research I believe this could be the thermal paste issue.

I'm trying to save a 30 minute trip to the store near me, because it if turns out the console just has to be shipped somewhere to be serviced, I'd just mail it instead.

As far as I know, they cannot. they can have a look at it, and give you advice on what to do. The console however would still need to be sent to the repair center.

The Xbox app is just an extension of the Micosoft store as games on the app download using the store. Here's another thing you can try.

Go to Windows settings >> Apps >> Xbox >> Advanced >> Repair & Reset.

After doing that, Perform the same steps for Gaming Services and Microsoft Store as well.

In that case, your console will have to be repaired, most likely. If your console is the original model of the Xbox One, you need to take it to a console repair store (technician). If your console is the Xbox One S/X, you can get it replaced with Microsoft, or you can also take it to a technician.

If it is an Xbox One S/X, open this website (https://support.microsoft.com/devices), select your Xbox console, and follow the onscreen steps to complete your service order request

resetting and repairing doesn't fix the app, I had a similar issue with microsoft store but that fixed itself for whatever reason.

James, do you care trying again, step by step? This is the only way you could get to the troubleshooting menu. This black screen happened to me already with two of my consoles, and it worked for me and for many other gamers, as well.

If this not work at all, might be a hardware issue.

In that case, which model is your Xbox One?

If it is the Original One, would have to take it to a repair store in your city, because, unfortunately, since it is not manufactured anymore, Microsoft does not offer repair services anymore for this model.

If it is the Xbox One S or X, you could trigger the warranty, if it still under it. In case your console do not have the warranty on it anymore, you have two options, the first would be to repair using the Microsoft's repair service, but, Microsoft charges for the repair (XBOX ONE S: $199 and XBOX ONE X: $249) or take it to a repair store in your city also.
