Can installing Homebrew apps on your xbox one get you console/account banned?

I know that anyone can use their Xbox to build/design games or apps, if you know how to do it. It's a built-in feature that's pretty cool.

I wouldn't, just because I don't know for sure if it's allowed. You could probably find out by reading the code of conduct and terms of service.

If you don't use the homebrew as a piracy tool, like an exploit for example, you won't get in trouble

Hey, can i install home-brew apps onto my Xbox one? I know it may seem suspicious, but i'm just wondering because I've been meaning to get into Xbox one home-brewing. I've been home-brewing my PsVita for a while, but I've been thinking why not step it up
a notch & do the same with my Xbox One. I've asked this question because i don't want to get banned for doing something that wouldn't mod my other online games but just add content to my Xbox one that isn't normally available on the Xbox one games store.

I would personally shy away from putting anything on my xbox that wasn't made by an actual developer, because I think it's technically viewed as modding the console.

It seems pretty hypocritical to not allow people to make apps for their own use while encouraging other companies to do the exact opposite, but I believe they have to purchase a developer package from Microsoft, effectively giving them lisensing to modify
the consoles.

Running any 'homebrew' software on the Xbox 360 would require the console to altered. If you modify your console, you will have it banned from LIVE. It's as simple as that.
