If you are talking about Microsoft gift cards and available credit in your account, you can use it to buy a console. Although I am not sure about pre-orders.

You can purchase games using currency on their respective consoles: You can use currency to buy Xbox 360 games ON the Xbox 360 just like you can buy Xbox One games ON the Xbox One, but you cannot purchase Xbox 360 games on an Xbox One using microsoft currency.

No, "stored currency value" cannot be used to purchase Xbox Live, just like Points couldn't be used to previously.

Unfortunately at this time, currency cannot be used for Xbox Live Gold Subscriptions. Currently the only subscription you can buy using your currency is a Music Pass subscription on Xbox One.
