Can I somehow play Minecraft with an Xbox 360 remote on my laptop

Assalamualikum.

I have a DELL INSPIRON N5010 laptop on which I play Minecraft. I find it difficult to play with the keyboard but when I play Minecraft on my Xbox 360(offline), I can play very well. I have an Xbox 360 Gaming Receiver at home with which I play other games
such as Virtua Tennis 4. When I play Minecraft, my remote connects but doesn't work. I browsed on the net, and they suggested me to use add-ons(which I tried to use but they did not work). Can I somehow use the controller to play Minecraft without any add-on.

It is Java Edition and when I use it with mods my laptop lags.

That is why I prefer not using mods while playing Minecraft(with Optifine to speed it up).

Is this the Bedrock edition of Minecraft you're trying to play, or is this the Java edition? Those would be different solutions to get the controller to work.

I'm understanding your setup is a PC with Xbox 360 wireless controller receiver, an Xbox 360 controller, and Minecraft. The controller is working for other titles on the PC, but not so in Minecraft, correct? I am GUESSING that it's the Java version, because
I do know that the Bedrock edition has built in controller support. The Java edition would require additional mods to make it work, and if so, I would recommend reviewing the Official Minecraft forums for the best solutions that have mods from a trustworthy
site.

I believe it may only be infrared in controlling the xbox 360. but the controller is a universal remote. and it has a Media Centre button which has been on computers way before the xbox 360 was even created.

There is just no other explanation for why I can control my HP Vista Home Premium Laptop Computer. My HP Laptop came with its own little remote. That sticks into the side of the laptop. My laptop has a IR sensor on the front but I disabled it. Now the Remote
that came with the Laptop doesn't work but the 360 Remote still does.

The remote can't be only Infrared else it wouldn't be controlling my laptop when I am not point the remote at it. I am in front of my laptop pointing it at my xbox but my HP PC is also being controlled at the same time.

I can point my remote to the ceiling and still make the media centre on my PC pop up and then move around using the arrow keys on my 360 remote
