Can I set up a Time a Warner Cable Remote to control my Xbox One?

I don't have my hdmi cable from my cable box running through my Xbox One but I would like to see if I can set my Time a Warner Cable remote to control options in the menus for Blu-ray movie watching. I don't want to waste batteries for 2 hours by keeping
my controller on. Xbox One really needs a remote because I cannot select audio options, or chapters on a Blu-ray movie or tv series on Blu-ray with my voice.

setting up live TV on 2nd TV without cable box.

I have xbox one set up on my 2nd TV without cable box. I am with time warner cable. Main TV has cable box. Is their a way to set up 2nd TV? 2nd TV is connected to cable without box.

Router and Parental Controls

I have a motorla wireless router through time warner cable. I have parental controls set up through my router. However, when they are applied and I try to connect to xbox live It will not allow me to. When i turn them off then I can connect right up. I have
an ethernet cable going from my router to my xbox. Is there a way i can keep the parental controls on through my router and still get on xbox live? My kids use the computer when I am gaming and i want the parental setting on while they are on the computer.

No, not so much with the TWC remote, as IR codes are sent out not taken in. SmartGlass 2.0 it works amazing... and it is free:

I have the same problem. My xbox will not change the channel, but all of the other functions work. Unfortunately, my remote does not work AT ALL now that it is hooked up through the Xbox HDMI. I am with Time Warner Cable, and I have the Samsung SMT-H3272
Receiver.

I have timer warner cable and I have a cisco cable box and my Xbox one works with the cisco cable box that time warner installed. The Xbox can power it on off and change channels but it cannot fast forward or pause anything not even DVR stuff or live tv
like my cable box can...

The new media remote works just like your controller. The programming is done under settings in your Xbox One. The remote uses the IR Blaster in your Kinect to control your TV, receiver and cable box. If this hasn't been set up in the Xbox One...you wont
be able to control those items.

I have similar set up.

(Time Warner) Cisco 8742HDC Set top > Xbox One > Pioneer VSX-42 > Sharp LED

I had the "We have lost connection" a couple times initially all I did was reseat the HDMI cable between set top and Xbox (on the Xbox end on mine made it work). I had it happen again So I put a new HDMI cable in there and it is fine.

I don't know why this would help but the only place I have found DVI setting appears to be between Xbox and TV (or our case Xbox and our A/V Receiver). Check that under settings.

Say "Go to Settings"
Choose Display and Sound
Check that the TV Connection is set to Auto or HDMI.

I haven't played with Vol Up/Down yet. I'm using a Harmony Remote to control most of my A/V Receiver and DVR functions (so I can play back recorded TV).
