Can I run linux on my xbox?

Unfortunately, this is not available on the Xbox consoles since this can only be run through a PC. They are only designed for it to work on Windows.

It's the Linux subsystem for running Android apps under windows

It's how Google play games and Amazon games store runs on windows

Linux runtimes do Not run on Xbox which are encrypted

Nor would the software run properly on proprietary hardware

Not to mention the HAL would prevent it

Xbox runs a customised os with custom drivers and a security chip

Even the ps3 had to have a custom Linux with Sony support to run yellowhat if I remember correctly before sony disabled it after people used it for the wrong reasons not to mention if was a security. Concern according to Sony's press release on the matter

You don't even need that subsystem on windows as Google play games will now install directly thru the Google website

And no it's not for apps for Linux

Sony uses a proprietary bsd so does Apple or Nintendo.

Steam deck would probably suit your needs better you can install Linux apps there

MS like sony and Nintendo sell their consoles for a subsidised price you would be paying thousand dollars at least if you paid the real price of consoles

The game sales and subscriptions fees helps the subsidy hence why other systems cant run on consoles

Steam deck well weirdly enough let you do what you are wanting if you want to spend the time to do if you can stick with steam os version of Linux which you can install Linux apps or install Linux or Windows along with epics games or gog or battlenet

You could try installing linux on the original xbox and then seeing if the linux version of Minecraft would run.

also I run linux on my laptop and my desktop lacks internet. so... yeah :/
