Can I run a digital Xbox 360 game on Xbox One

Hi,

Recently I bought an Xbox One S and had a digital game that I bought on my old Xbox 360, and was wondering if I could get it to work on my Xbox One S. Again, it's a digital game, not a disc. Thanks!

Grand Theft Auto V Digital Download?

I would be careful downloading games digital for Xbox 360 at this point. How long will they keep supporting that system? Xbox One can`t run Xbox 360 games, so you run the risk of losing what you bought at some point.

No. Xbox 360 and Xbox One games are still separate.

However, certain games (Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4) are running promotions where if you buy the digital version on the 360, you can buy the digital version on the One for the reduced price of $10/£10

back-compatible, yes. Sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the game, and you can install it on Xbox One.

If it is compatible, it will show as ready to install in your games and apps.
