    Can I repair an interrupted game bar recording file?


    Yesterday I was recording with the Windows 10 game bar feature and suddenly my lap top got interrupted due to some power supply problem (my laptop was plugged) and it leads to a restart of the computer.

    After restarting, the movie file from game bar recording can be found in the folder but the file cannot be played. Is there anyway I can repair and make the file playable?

    Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand have question on repairing a video file.

    Unfortunately, when a file like that becomes corrupt there is no way of repairing the file.

    Can I extend the playback feature (Replay feature) of the Xbox Game Bar from 10 minutes to 1 hour?

    I assume by the 'playback feature' you mean the record time? The Windows Game Bar maximum record time that can be set is 4hrs. This can be changed in Windows Settings > Gaming > Captures.

    The Windows Game-Bar uses a video recording codec that requires the file to be finalised in order for it to be saved. This means that either if the recording is stopped via the Game Bar or the recording ends on its own once the maximum time is reached, the file should save. If for some reason there a fault or a system crash, the video recording won't save as it won't complete the 'finalising' process.

    You can open Game bar and click record. That allows you to record for how ever long you need. Yes it will be one file but it slows the game down and displays a recording icon. you can also record the last 10 minutes without the slow down and icon that
