Can I redeem a code for game that was sold in another country?

If he's gifting it through Xbox, it'll be region locked and won't work. Otherwise, it'll just depend on the code. Some codes are region locked, but not all.

As far as I can see Amazon doesn't actually deliver to India? So I'm assuming here that you've pre-ordered the game and received the code as part of another country ordering from Amazon. If that is the case then yes, that would be correct. Your particular
country would not be eligible to redeem this code. The code however, is valid for people in a country where this game was meant to be sold to.

these days i would have thought it was possible to get a code for different countries.. thats why its called the WORLD WIDE WEB.....silly me

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. You can gift to someone is your region. You can also try for a refund on the item if you purchased through the Xbox/Microsoft store.
