For you to manage it you can simply sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings.

On this screenshot, you'll see the setting that you need to specifically "allow".

No I do not have a spawning issue, if you treat minecaft like and RPG "save early, save often", you can always reload your last save. Always save before you quit.
