No.

Scarface isn't backwards compatible & since to program has ended your only hope would be a remaster at some point.

Most likely wasn't added due to licensing issues.

Xbox One games can be played on the Series S/X, but Series S/X games cannot be played on the One.

This was such an excellent game for the Xbox and PS2, resembling the GTA series in some ways, but having many of its own unique touches. Robert Loggia and Steve Bauer (who were in the film 'Scarface') lent their voice talents to some of the characters of
the Scarface landscape, as well as many other well known actors (Walking Dead actor, Michael "Merle" Rooker, plays a hit man for Tony Montana). Furthermore, Al Pacino did allow his likeness to be used in the game, and even though he did not allow his voice
to be used, he personally hand-pick the voice actor who portrayed Tony Montana in the game.

It's important to know which game your friend bought.

I say this because there are currently three versions of the Series X/S game. Gta 5 Online, Gta 5 Series X/S and Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S).

If he has purchased Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S), which gives access to the game for Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X, he can play online with you as long as he downloads the Xbox One version, so you and he will have the same save and can play online.

If he is a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber he can download the game in the Xbox One version and play with you.
