    Can I play my X|S Games on a Storage Expansion Card?


    I need some assistance as I'm not exactly understanding what a "Storage Expansion Card" really is.

    I just need to know if I can actually play my X|S games like it's on Internal Storage as on my external hard drive (and I have asked an expert and know why) I can't play these new-generation games. With games like Modern Warfare 2 and GTA V installed, I don't exactly have the storage required for Cyberpunk or the like on my Series S.

    Hi,

    Both Series X/S games and Xbox One games that been optimised (I'm British) for Series X/S must be installed on either the internal storage or the expansion card. They can not be run from a USB connected storage device. My optimised Series X/S Xbox One games
    were moved to my Expansion card during their update.

    You need an expansion card for most Series X/S titles, as external hard drives are not fast enough to run these games. You can store these games on the hard drive but to play them you'll need to move them to internal storage or an expansion card.

    Games from Xbox One or earlier and select Series X/S titles can be stored and played on an external hard drive.

    Are you trying to install and at the same time play games optimized for Xbox Series X|S games on it? If yes, that will only work with Seagate Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S. We can only install Xbox One games on a normal external hard drive. Here's what you can check

    Hi,

    Series X|S optimised games can only run on either the internal storage or expansion card. You can 'store' Series X|S on a USB hard drive/SSD for later but you can't play them from these drives as they're not fast enough.

    Xbox One games that are not optimised for Series X|S can be run from USB Storage.
