Can I manage Xbox captures from a PC?

The whole "screenshot management" concept is one that confuses me and I'd love some clarity.

I take a pretty high number of screenshots and later delete the ones I don't want, but right now the process is painfully slow. Capturing in 4K, it takes anywhere from 10-25 seconds to enlarge a single image for review. I'd love a faster way to access and manage
screenshots, perhaps via a PC? Both the console screenshots and UPLOAD studio move at that snail's pace.

Then there's the convoluted deleting. When I choose to delete the screenshot, it mentions that it will be deleted from Xbox live but if I have a copy on my console, it will remain. I'm assuming that because I never manually chose to back anything up, I'm deleting
the capture from both my internal HDD and Xbox live?

Photo Mode, File Location, and Sharing

While playing Forza Motorsport 7 on the Xbox One X, I'm able to go into Photo Mode and take photographs from outside of the vehicle and save them. My question is, where are these files being stored? I go into Broadcast & Capture, then Capture, then Manage
Captures, but those files aren't in there (only the screen captures from pressing the Home button, then choosing the Capture Option, then Capture a Screenshot are in there). Also, is there a way to share them in a community that I belong to in the Xbox One
World? If not, what would be the point in Photo Mode?

As of now, I have no interest in taking screen captures (basic in-car screen capture) that are then uploaded to OneDrive.

Why can't you view captures on PC?

Previously, there was a separate Xbox Console Companion app on PC that allowed you to view and manage your captures. However, it was recently replaced by the new, unified Xbox app. Currently, the Xbox app on PC has limited functionality for viewing and managing captures. This is a known issue Microsoft is actively working on.

The new Xbox app aims to provide all your Xbox needs in one place, including eventually managing captures on PC.

What can you do now?

While waiting for the Xbox app on PC to gain full capture functionality, here are your options:

Use the Xbox app on mobile: You can view and manage your captures through the Xbox app on your phone or tablet.

Download captures to your PC: You can download individual captures through the Xbox app on your console and access them on your PC.

Provide feedback: Let Microsoft know about your frustration by sending feedback through the Xbox app or the official Xbox website. The more feedback they receive, the sooner they'll prioritize improving capture management on PC.

On your console Home Guide menu select Capture & share > Recent captures >Show all >Manage captures

That will show you your captures you have uploaded to the Xbox network. You can change this to captures on this console to show those captures.

If you change the look on screen to small icons (press 4 squares) you will have other options as well as a delete choice.

Looking at this screen outlay, on console captures will inform you if they have been uploaded to the Xbox network or not.

Captures on the console that have been uploaded to the xbox network can be deleted from the console if you want. Be aware that there is a finite available space on the console for captures that fills up very quickly if you make a lot of clips and/or screenshots.

Uploaded Captures on the xbox network can also be deleted.

I use the sort option and delete captures regularly from both my console and Xbox network to keep my captures manageable.

If you are on PC open the companion app click on captures and you can then choose this PC or Xbox live. You can edit/delete from there.
