You can try downloading these games from the Microsoft Store app. Simply search the game title – make sure you are signed in to the Microsoft Store app with your Microsoft account that owns Game Pass – and download it there.

There is a vast number of possible explanations as to why the Xbox application cannot be installed on your Windows PC.

The most common known causes might be any one or a combination of damaged or corrupted system files as well as interference from an antivirus or firewall.

For optimal functionality, the Xbox App must have the Microsoft Store App installed first. If there is a problem with the App Store app, then many applications won’t run, and they won’t download anything.

Before getting to the actual software tweaks, make sure that you’ve got through these preliminary steps:

Make sure that you’ve got a stable Internet connection. If you use a VPN client or a proxy server, also try disabling and removing them if the Xbox app won’t install.

Besides software interferences, a VPN can also create mismatches between the time and date of your system. Make sure your Region, respectively, Time & Date settings are set to the USA.

Run an SFC scan to repair any file corruption at the system level and reboot your system.

Download and install the Xbox app from Microsoft Store directly, not from third-party websites.

But if these are all part of the pc game library the platform is just pc right?

I would be fine just using the xbox app but the download speed is just a joke. my internet speed is much faster than 7mbps. I've tried delivery optimisation and repairing the app... nothing works to improve the DL speed on the xbox app.

Again if I can just resume the download using the microsoft store this would also be a great option but it doesn't for some games.

Sea of Thieves on the microsoft store only has install on the xbox app option but it appears in the downloads on the microsoft store and from there I can pause the download in the app and then resume it in the store. But with Total War: Warhammer III, it doesn't even show up in downloads, it's on the store and gives the same message to install on the app but then I can't see it on my library in the store (even though it's listed on the store xD)

Hey, I found a post saying to install/download any different non game pass app from the store (I did microsoft's email app) and now i can play my game pass games again
