    To be clear, I am not wanting stream display TO the XBox, but rather stream the XBox display over wifi to a wireless display adapter?

    Most of what I have seen has to do with streaming content to the XBox, I am going the other way...

    Yes you can do that to the Microsoft wireless display adapter.

    Right but I’m not using hdmi I’m using DisplayPort which maxes out at 240hz on 1080p like I said I’m using a hdmi to DisplayPort active adapter so the display from my Xbox to my monitor is DisplayPort so I have adaptive sync/freesync turned on in the monitor it’s self not VRR in the Xbox settings

    No, adapters can make thing worst for you and are pointless to use, You always want to connect via HDMI to HDMI or Displayport to Displayport for the best outcome, never go HDMI to Displayport.

    DisplayPort adapter cables are not bidirectional And often cause problems with proper detection and hand shake. The HDMI port is only 1.4 so that’s why you’re limited to 1440. I’m not sure what you can do outside of using a different display
