Do you mean to use the points to purchase the controller? Then the answer is no. However, if you use your Microsoft points to buy gift cards then yes you can get yourself a controller if you have redeemed enough gift cards.

I have the very same issue with my Xbox Elite Controller Series 2. Very annoying indeed.

How can the Xbox firmware not be recognized by the PC software? Huge oversight by Microsoft...

There was a new update released, can you try updating your Elite Series 2 controller again?

I also have the Elite Series 2 controller and I do not run into these issues when using it with the PC.
