Can I delete swear words I have put in messages

My son has been silly and sworn in a message to a so called friend. That friend then reported that message. My sons account has a two week ban now, which is acceptable as he swore. But my question is can he now delete that message and content, so that his
friend doesn't report it again. He's sworn about three messages, so can I /my son delete these or not? Please help stressed....

Hi there,

The conversation can be deleted on your side, but it still remains on the recipient's side.

If the messages have been reported, and a suspension issued from that report, the suspension has already be issued and served
if they get reported again.

I feel required to add this here. If you feel unsafe, as you are using the word stalking, it may be useful to contact the police. It sounds like you know this person or at least who they are. Just something to consider.

Some advice, if you're husband put any profanity in his message, any word that can be considered a swear, it will get you a time out ban.

There is a difference between a game using M-rated swear words, and actually insulting a real life person with an insult through messaging.

If a character in a game is swearing, they are usually aim their insult or swearing towards a virtual opponent, a non-player character or a situation in the game.

You however, used a swear word directed against another person.

If a game character says "Damn those &%@# Alien §$#@, I'm going to shove their alien bomb into their ?#@$", that's okay for an M rated game, as these swear words and insults are directed to a virtual story character.

If I went and sent you a message stating "FloopedthePig72 is a
&%@# Alien §$#@, I'm going to shove some insults into his ?#$@", then I have violated the Code of Conduct and when you report my message, I'd be suspended for that.

No matter the maturity of the game or how many swear words a character in the game uses:

If you violate the Code of Conduct by swearing against another player via Xbox Live, you will get a suspension.
