Can I delete a Microsoft account?

I have a microsoft account that I no longer have the password to and it is giving me issues I cannot fix with the password recovery service.

My main microsoft account (this one) is one I used for a long time but is now on a defunct email, so I was hoping to use my current email address to migrate my Mojang account which is when I stumbled on to an issue. I already had a microsoft account on my current email, but no memory of the details of its existence whatsoever.

I know I made the account because the backup email is my brother's, but he deactivated that email many years ago. I have tried several times to use the password recovery service to no avail. I don't remember any of the info about this account because I don't believe I used it much at all, but even if I did I do not care for any of the services I may have used on the account and I would rather toss it all out just so I can use my actual email address instead of risking all of my future services on a dead email with this account.

Is there any way for me to wipe a microsoft account and start again without signing on to an account or is any microsoft service unusable for me unless I upend my entire digital life to a new email? I don't care for keeping the microsoft account, but if recovering the account is an easier process than deleting and remaking it then I am game for that too.

(If you can't tell, I hate this service with a burning passion)

Unfortunately to request a Microsoft account deletion is necessary to sign in first with it, is due to security reasons

So, unless you gain access to the account again. You may need to use a new email address

"I don’t like to give bad news but nope. Unfortunately there is no way to delete only the Xbox profile from your Microsoft account.

The Xbox profile and other services like Skype, Onedrive, office365 are linked with your Microsoft account and can’t be deleted separately as well"

I suggest you reach out to Xbox support as they can view which particular email address was linked to your Microsoft Xbox account:

Does that make the Microsoft email deleted and not just the Microsoft Account? I was under the impression that the only way you can delete a Microsoft Email and Skype service for example is by deleting the entire Microsoft account.

The problem is this will delete Xbox Live account as well. This is why I was thinking whether changing the Xbox Live Gamertag profile alias to another primary email such as Gmail, Yahoo, etc and then deleting the Microsoft Account will not erase the Xbox Live
profile? Or will that go away too?

Also I thought there was a 60 day window period if in case you were to delete an email or MS account if you log back in the deletion process will be reverted. But no where does it say that you can keep Xbox Live account but be able to delete Microsoft account
alongside the Microsoft email. This is where I am getting confused.
