Would my dad still be able to access his email after this solution? This sounds like deleting his email. Also, would this replace all the things he has signed up with his email to my email?

Thanks for reaching out to the forums for advice on how to proceed with this situation. This is a pretty common situation for people as we age and start up our own accounts emails with their own credentials.

According to our website:


"When removing an email alias that’s a Microsoft domain (such as @Outlook.com, @Live.com, or @Hotmail.com), that email is completely deleted from our systems and can no longer be used to send or receive emails. It won’t be available for use again
as an alias on another account. Microsoft does not recycle email addresses, so it may not be reclaimed at a future time."

So if it is one of those handles, then you would be out of luck and that would delete your dad's email.

If that's the case, the only recourse would be to create and start a whole new account.

There is an option to add a Microsoft Account Alias. Doing this allows you to switch your Xbox account to a new email of your choice. After doing this you will need to set the new email as your primary alias. You will then have the ability to remove your
dad's email address! Below are the steps to accomplish this:

1. Login to your Microsoft account via account.microsoft.com

2. Click Your Info at the top of the page once signed in

3. Select Manage how you sign in to Microsoft from the options that appear

4. Click Add Email underneath your current email address

5. From the options that appear, choose whether you would like to use a
new or existing email address for your account. Select the applicable option from the list and follow the on-screen instructions to finish attaching the alias to your account.

*If you are adding an existing email address, it can not already be associated with another Microsoft account.*

When visiting the Manage how you sign in to Microsoft page, a list of email addresses attached to your account should appear. Once you have attached a new alias, you will need to set this as your
Primary alias as the account's main associated email address. After this you will be able to remove your dad's email from the account. Configure your Microsoft account alias with the following steps:

1. To set a newly attached address as your primary alias, click Make Primary below the main email address you are looking to use. This will set the selected address as your main address for your Microsoft Account and displayed across Microsoft
services.

No. The email is the Microsoft account which is the Xbox account. They are all one in the same so there isnt any way to separate them.
