I'm afraid you can only change your Java username once every 30 days, so you may have to wait to change to your previous username. ​​​​​​​If someone has accessed your Microsoft account, please make sure to secure it and change your password.

Sorry to hear about that, however, gamertag and Java username are different, although both are linked to the same Microsoft account. Gamertag can be changed when you pay a fee, while Java username can be changed every 30 days.

Since your preferred Java username is attached to your old account, there's no way to release or remove that unless you change it so you can use it on your new account.
