    As the title says, I want to attempt a work around for gifting my friend a game. Will my console region matching his lead to me being able to gift a game for that region immediately to him? We are in Canada and the US respectively, literally 3 hours
    from each other. I am willing to pay whatever the cost difference is for the game between our respective currencies. Can I do this and change my console region back pretty much immediately without it messing up the games that I already own? Has anyone done
    this successfully?

    Ans changing youerconsole.region wont have any bearing on your billing region and it is a violation of the rules

    The game is literally available in the US and Canada. And I'm willing to pay for what the game costs in either country. The game itself shouldn't even be region locked. I don't understand why I would get in trouble for doing this. I already shouldn't
    need to do this but, the policy in place currently is wildly flawed in the way its implemented.

    Doing anything to bypass region restrictions violates the terms of service and would put you at risk for being banned.

    If it's a gift card that has a specific currency for a certain region then you will have to change your console's region to that in order to redeem the code successfully.

    If it's a game that was gifted to you via the "Buy as a gift" option on the Microsoft Store, both the person that sent the gift and you should be physically in the same region in order for it to work.
