    Can I change email but keep all games/purchases?


    Hi all. My son has been using my Microsoft acct on his Xbox for years but he's old enough now to have his own email etc, and also I'm sick of getting constant notifications and emails related to it.

    Can I remove my email and add his to the account somehow so I can have my email back but he doesn't lose any information?

    I also want to change my password and not have him needing access to it.

    Hello there!

    Once you link it to your e-mail it will automatically get linked to the Xbox because it's the same e-mail address used on the Xbox.

    Hello there!

    Regarding your issue, unfortunately there is not a way we can do that. If you add another-email and then remove your, it will be deleted from Microsoft and you will not be able to use it anymore.

    You could try adding another e-mail as an alias and making the primary and yours secondary, but that will make both e-mails linked together with the same password.

    The best option for you is to create a new Microsoft account for your son, and if he is using the Xbox you can set up your account as the home console so that you can share games and subscriptions with him.

    Would it be possible for me to create a new Microsoft email address for myself and have that linked to everything on my old email (Office365 subscription, computer login etc.) except xbox so my son can continue to use my old one?

    He isn't going to go for having all of his experience go back to zero so for now we will keep it as is. Is there a workaround? For example, can we just change the email address that has the Microsoft account, the one that purchases the gamepass? I mean, they have to have a solution for people when they change email addresses right?

    If you choose to keep games and apps the games will remain installed, if you have to delete all content, you can download all again using the same email that made those purchases
