Can I calibrate tv on xbox 1 console without the tv remote? Live in a hotel an wanna adjust...

Can I adjust brightness an other settings using the calibration tool on regular xbox one without rv remote, live In a hotel and remote has limited functions so I used menu buttons on tv itself but only let me change screen to wide-screen an could see the green lines mostly on the aspect ratio Part but after that nothing, any help?

Maybe a universal remote would work?? Just wanna see if it helps even the slightest with game graphics

    :)

Can I calibrate tv on xbox 1 console without the tv remote? Live in a hotel an wanna adjust brightness/contrast menu button on tv has limited functions also

    Hi,

Actually, it is possible to adjust the console settings without a TV remote and/or Xbox controller. You’ll just need to reach the correct screen, probably a little easier on smart TVs that aren’t wall mounted. The menu options on the TV itself are limited though (usually the only options are to adjust volume, channel select, input/source and power on/off), so the remote is always ideal and preferred.

If you let me know the manufacturer, I’ll try to point you in the right direction here. Please specify the exact TV model if possible.

To clarify, may I ask exactly what you mean by “TV remote has limited functions”? Are you not able to adjust the brightness settings and aspect ratio with the remote or is it just not always responsive? And are you setting up your console for the first time?

If it’s because the remote is temperamental and not responding correctly, then the batteries may simply need to be replaced. Also, confirm that you’re using the correct remote that’s compatible and point directly at the TV within it’s range and no wireless interference. You should be able to adjust all the TV options (including the display settings) with only the remote.

You may also want to try to reset the TV remote and see if this makes any difference:

Take out the batteries, hold down the power button for a few seconds, then reinsert the batteries and verify they’re securely connected.

Connect the HDMI cable to the ‘HDMI out to TV’ port (right next to the power supply input) on your console. Keep in mind that there may be multiple HDMI ports on the TV (most new models have at least 2 or 3), so be sure to match the source/input to the one that you’re connected to.

Refer to this guide, which explains how to configure your settings through the Xbox app and how you can use the app as a Xbox controller:

Set up your Xbox console: Digital setup | Xbox Support

    Other guides that may help:

I also suggest to ask the front desk/reception at the hotel to assist. They may have a spare TV remote or the manufacturer manual. The support team for the specific TV model would also be able to advise on what to do.

    Hope this helps!

I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the Xbox community. How are you?

No, it is not possible to change these settings through the console. Maybe a universal controller will help you.

Font size will adjust to your TV size but the font will be the same try these steps

Xbox one - cannot recalibrate display

Lol we should both feel a little silly here, you can only select Next because you need to adjust the settings on your TV not the console, those calibration pictures are there to provide you with a way of calibrating your TV and nothing else. There are no
options on the console to adjust brightness etc.

I really should have checked this out myself, like you all I can do is hit next so your console is working fine.

Peggle 2 Borders being cut off Screen.

Use your tv remote and go into tv settings and look for all the calibration options.
