Can I buy the MWIII vault edition upgrade if I don’t own the game on my account?

So I game share with my cousin and he pre-ordered the MWIII cross-gen bundle. I want to buy the vault edition upgrade that costs $30 but I don’t know if I’ll be able to purchase it because I don’t own the game on my account. And if I do buy it will I even be able to use the items it comes with because I don’t own the game, just game sharing it?

From what I understand, you can't purchase the MWIII Vault Edition upgrade if you don't have the game on your account. And if you buy it, you may not be able to use the included items because you are only sharing the game.

If I'm wrong, a community member or moderator can correct me, but from what I understand, if you are not the owner of the account, you cannot do what you say.

Maybe what I did was something very dumb but I thought I can get the MW2 rewards like the zombie ghost and then the weapons in Battle royale later just by buying the vault upgrade. My question here is I need the full game to claim the upgrade or I need to wait or it was something else.

You definitely need mw3. All you bought was the vault edition upgrade which is for people who already have the standard edition of mw3 and wanted to upgrade to the vault edition.

So without owning the standard edition of mw3 the vault edition upgrade is essentially useless to you.

So this is Activisions way of making more money by making family's buy the vault edition for each account I don't think the content with the vault edition is worth paying an extra $100 to get the base game again so can I refund the upgrade purchased? As it's not worth buying the base game for her account

no it does not, you have to buy the vault edition that contains the full game. the upgrade requires you already own it

If it is concerning vault upgrade (not the full vault edition)

You MUST BUY THE full game gamesharing won't work with vault upgeade you MUST OWN the base game digirally

If you have a disk vault wont work
