    Can I buy RDR2 Story Mode alone?


    Hello, so I am considering buying Red Dead Online, but I read that RDR2 has no Smart Delivery to Xbox Series S. I see a listing for Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode on my laptop here: listing. Am I able to buy this "add-on" directly from my Xbox?

    Sorry, I mean to say “from your mobile phone or PC”

    When you purchase and own something, you can see something like in the picture:

    If you tap “Install to” you have the option to remotely install the game.

    Yes, this helped me out. At least I can buy remotely without smart delivery, meaning that I can buy the Story Mode Add-on from my device and it will install on my Series S, right?

    If I'm getting this wrong, please write back!

    Too bad RDR2 has no X|S enhancement... it would be really awesome!

    Let me address your questions.

    I would like to confirm that Red Dead Redemption is not a smart delivery compatible title, additionally, no next gen version has been released for this title. You can notice if a game is compatible with this feature by looking at the Microsoft store for the Smart delivery icon.

    You can install games remotely on your Series S, if a game is compatible with smart delivery, you always get the best version.
    If we talk about Red Dead Redemption, you’re going to have installed the Xbox One version of this game (not the One X)

    The reason why I am reaching out is because I have a Series S, and RDR2 in any way has Smart Delivery available. Unless I am not correctly comprehending.. can I select to install it on my console if I purchase it via laptop/phone?

    In other words, can it get installed from another device if it does not have smart delivery?

    I am pretty new to Xbox in general, and even newer to digital purchases, I appreciate your time.

    Yes, I understand that I need Online to play Story Mode. However, I thought that maybe I could get RDO while I wait for RDR2 to get another discount. Thanks for the reminder :)
