    Can i buy and play a dlc without owning the game but having gamepass?


    I finally finished monster hunter world on my xbox and i really really enjoyed it so im thinking about buying the iceborn dlc. However i don't own monster hunter world and have been playing it through xbox gamepass. If i were to buy just iceborne would i be able to play it as long as i have the gamepass and don't own mhw? If you have done this or are an xbox staff who knows the answer it would mean alot to me if you could answer Can i buy and play a dlc without owning the game but having gamepass? :)

    What EXACTLY is included in Halo: The MCC?

    All that's included in it is Halo 1 to 4 but you can get Reach and ODST via DLC. I have a better suggestion though, if you get gamepass you can play all of it without having to buy it. The DLC is included in the gamepass!

    Hi there Jon welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Unfortunately ñ, buying DLC do not menas that you own the base game, you have them because they are on the gamepass but if you want to keep playing them without the gamepass subscription you would have to buy the complete game!

    You can just buy & play the dlc on it's own but just be aware that when the game leaves gamepass then you wont be able to play the dlc.

    The Ultimate Edition of AC Origins goes on sale quite often so you could just wait for that & get the game & all the dlc for dirt cheap.

    Yes, if you purchase GamePass or the game itself, you will regain access to your previous purchased DLC for that game.
