Can I ask a dumb question?

I got Diablo II for the mac when it came out and played three classes through the first round of difficulty then quit because I was sick of the auction house. When it morphed to get ready for the expansion I picked it up again and started three new characters.
I was really liking it. I felt like I was getting good equipment and getting stronger. I even upped the difficulty which is a big deal for me. Then it came out for the 360. I was reluctant to switch even though I dislike gaming on my computer but have finally,
for various reasons, decided to take the plunge. I began a new Demon Hunter last night on normal.

She had more trouble with the early undead than the same level did on the computer, there were fewer drops of health globes or equipment so she ran through potions fast especially in the cathedral and there are none for sale until the Cain is rescued.I ended
up having to drop it back to easy just so I could clear it. Once I did, I got lots more health globes, gear and finally a new weapon I could use. The old miner in Tristram never had a weapon I could use. They were all Xed out. Needless to say I am perplexed
at the difference and a bit unhappy about it.

So, my question is has anyone played on both platforms and found these differences at the beginning or has everyone gotten so far past that point that you don't remember? So far this is not making me enthusiastic for the legendary edition on a new console
when it arrives.

Can I ask a really dumb question - how do you do the table of scores? I tried but it didnt work!!

Well, I kind of answered my own question. I made a new Demon Hunter on the PC at Normal and took her into town and out hunting wretched mothers. With the starter equipment she can one hit most undead and was never really in danger even from the queen. Then
I did the same thing on the 360 and it took 3 shots to down a common undead and many to get through mobs around the wretched mothers. The ruins with the queen required running around and all my potions to get through on Normal so the Demon Hunter is substantially
weaker on 360 than she is on the current incarnation of Diablo on the C. In fact, the 360 version reminds me of the frustrations I felt when I first got the game when it was newly released.

 

Having only played the 360 version i have no issues with it. Not one shotting every enemy early is something i expect form a game. That early one monsters should present some sort of a challenge. If i was one shotting most early game monsters id think it
was to easy and most likely not play it. Yay it may be a challenge but change up your strategy and gameplay tactics then to better suit the difficulty. Make use of the consoles evasion joystick ability to keep a safe distance from enemies. IMO the DH was never
a truly great solo character for early levels, so maybe team up with live players for support

 

I just dropped back to easy for a bit to get some decent gear then went back to medium. I still die if I get cornered but I can handle that. I think that in addition to the DH starting a bit stronger on PC I was also starting with a lot of gold from my first
run through so I could buy at least something to fill all the slots from the beginning. I just learned tonight that the bartenter in Tristram sells potions. Who knew? lol my DH usually stands in the middle of the mob and rapid fires everything out of existence.
If I get enough health globes and don't get trapped it works. Oddly, my wizard managed to get through the same beginning on medium but I have them all on hard on the PC. I hate to die though and dislike long fights.

 

Yeah, the first character you make on console will generally be the hardest in my opinion simply because he has nothing to help his/her start. The 2nd and so on all have resources from that first build they can leech off of. It'll seem easier as it goes
on. My monk can solo master 4 easily but struggles on 5. my wizard can solo master 3 but dies to often on 4 to be effective solo. Playing with allies though my monk and wizard can handle master 5 easily

 

Well what difficulty are you starting on xbox and pc? If you start easy on pc and say master on xbox it will be hard on console ofc.

And pc and console are not using same difficulty system so its not easy to compare.

But compare easy vs easy first of. Not easy(pc) and something else(xbox)
