Can games labeled xbox 1 enhanced still play on regular xbox1?

I am attempting to buy my son CoD WW2. the disc copies are sold out and the digital copy directs me to a version that says enhanced in the title. I simply would like to know if these " versions" of games can still be played on regular xbox1's. Since I don't
have a 4K tv I see no need right now to grab an xbox1 (x or s) at this time.

Can someone help so that my son and I can storm the beaches of Normandy soon.?

It is only with the Xbox One X that the enhanced game makes any difference, when you install the game onto your console, the One X just downloads the extra content required for 4K graphics.

The standard Xbox One and One S will not download the extra content as it is not required.

Yes. The phrase Xbox One Enhanced simply means that it will look and play better on the Xbox One console. Regardless of the phrase in the description all the games are still Xbox One games and can play on any Xbox One console.

 

I also wanted to mention that even without a 4K TV you'll still see improvements in the game thanks to SuperSampling. I only have a 1080p TV and am quite impressed with the features that the One X offer. Living With The Xbox One X – A Review
