    Can discs pick up the save history from a previously downloaded game


    Just wondering, if I download a game from game pass, and then microsoft remove it so from game pass and i I have to buy it, if I buy a physical copy of the game and start playing that, will my xbox be able to pick up my save from when I had it downloaded
    previously?

    Yes, it will because save data is located in the ball- on the system not the game.

    Yes, you'll still able to use your previous save.

    That is still a viable option but be sure you want to do that as you will delete everything on the drive including game saves. Any DLC you have previously purchased can still be downloaded from your download history located at Settings>Accounts>Download
    History.

    If you're looking to transfer save games why not use the cloud? Reconnect the hard drive to the older console and move the saves to the cloud. You'll be able to access them on the new console.

    From there you can simply redownload any DLC that you previously purchased from your download history. On the console go to System>Accounts>Download History.

    You could put your game saves on the Cloud so you can access them from the new console.

    After that you can redownload all your previously purchased DLC from your download history. Simply go to System>Accounts>Download History to access everything you've purchased in the past.
