Can digital games be transferred?

I have a few digital games I purchased a while back that I no longer play and a friend of mine is interested in buying the games from me. Is there a way I can transfer the licenses to him so the games are legally and legitimately his (without going
through the whole home console sharing thing since he is out of state)? Thanks!

xbox one should allow digital content to be backwards compatible similar to how ps3 can play digital versions of ps2 and ps1 games.

Unfortunately, digital content cannot be transferred to another user. You can leave the game on your console, but the buyer would have to purchase a license for the game themselves. The Microsoft Services Agreement prohibits transfer of digital content
and transfer of accounts.

The season will transfer since it is digital. The digital copy of the game will transfer. The disk copy will not transfer. Please keep in mind that the free digital upgrades expire on 3-31-2015.
