Can both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 have their games played on Windows 10 without the console?

I have some Xbox 360 games on disk and an Xbox 360, I'm wondering If I could play these Xbox 360 games (on disk) on my Windows 10 PC with the Xbox app, without the need for switching my Xbox 360 on. I also wonder if you could do this for the Xbox One as
well?

I understand that you can stream games from an Xbox One and have them appear on PC, but can you play Xbox One and Xbox 360 games natively on a Windows 10 PC without streaming or needing a console, while still be able to earn official game achievements?

You should not have to cancel. Your account email is good for both systems. I use the same email for Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows 10 without any problems.

You can use Netflix and all that on either console. You can stream the One on the Windows 10 and there are some games that are Play Anywhere titles that can be played on both the One and Windows 10 as long you purchase them digitally without having to buy
them twice.

 

no, you can only play the play anywhere titles on pc, otherwise you would need a console.Plus, x360 discs don't work on a pc.

You can not play xbox one or xbox 360 games - either on disc or digitally - on a windows 10 PC. The

play anywhere feature is only for those who have purchased the digital copy of the games on that list and it can be played on xbox one and windows 10, that does not apply to xbox 360 games at all.

You CAN stream them from an xbox one to your windows 10 PC using the Streaming feature in the xbox app on windows 10 and then have your xbox one play a backwards compatible game and then stream the xbox one to your PC while it's playing an xbox 360 game
and you can earn achievements that way.

If you own the game digitally it will show up on My Games and Apps > Games > (your game). If you own the disc insert it and download the converted copy and play while the disc is in.

 

Okay thank you very much, I have one small question when it comes to streaming. If i were to stream an Xbox 360 game from an Xbox One to my Windows PC, would I be able to control that streamed game with my mouse and keyboard as opposed to a controller while
on my Windows PC playing the streamed game?

 

No, only controller. You can't use mouse and keyboard in this fashion for any games over xbox one streaming.

 

There are no Xbox 360 play anywhere games, it is only available to Xbox 1.

 

The physical disks will not work in the PC. Some titles when you get them digital have play anywhere, but that is only for certain games .

Does play anywhere count for disks that have been downloaded to the console? Or is play anywhere a specific seperate purchase for certain games marked with 'play anywhere' as you stated?
