it currently isn't possible to buy xbox live gold with the currency on your account, it can be used to buy games, movies, dlc, avatar items etc.

There is no info available if it will be possible in the future

Buying points directly is not possible, what you can do is exchange your points for money from Xbox Live or Microsoft Store and use it to buy the DLC you want.

Thanks for the response. I've already checked that page and everything is in order. Its just very strange that at the same time I can buy something on Xbox Live and immediately try to buy any of this two DLCs mentioned and its not possible.
